- RECOVERY--PER FAR 5.7 THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY; THEREFORE FAR 5.203 DOES NOT APPLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTOR BRAHMA ENGINEERING, INC. UNDER THE CURRENT ROOFING CONTRACT# FA4610-05-D-0003 AT VANDENBERG AFB, CA. The scope of work for this project shall include replacement of the existing roof shingle and base sheet with a 40 year multi-dimensional shingle and cap roof colors to be available to the contract authority. Bldg #10719 is a single story 4/12 gable roof 38' feet wide by 88' feet long with no rafter overhang and consists of approximately 3800 square feet of deteriorated asphalt shingle. Underlayment shall be a 30lb asphalt impregnated roofing felt, roof fasteners shall be a non corrosive nail and shall be adequate in length to provide the proper penetration into the deck, roof shall be protected and waterproofed at all times. Corrosion resistant kynar metal drip edge flashing 24gauge dark brown shall be installed around the entire roof perimeter. Gutters and downspouts shall be replaced and shall match the existing facility color scheme, gutters to be a dark brown to match the fascia and the downspouts to match the color of the building. The vent stack roof penetration shall receive new flashing material to maintain water tightness and minimize roof maintenance. Caulking and sealant materials shall be utilized where necessary to provide a watertight seal. Any observable deteriorated or rotted out plywood decking shall be replaced with new exterior grade roofing material and install new CDX plywood substrate.
