- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District, Harry S Truman Lake Project, will issue a Request for Quotes (RFQ) for a firm fixed price contract to re-roof various Public Use buildings located throughout the Harry S Truman Dam and Reservoir project. The general Scope of Work consists of the following: Contractor shall furnish all equipment, materials and labor to perform the following at various locations: "10 Shelter Houses "20 Vault Toilets "5 Quad Buildings "2 Well Houses "1 Comfort Station Contractor shall: 1.Remove existing shingles from all roofs, ensuring that all nails, shingles and waste materials are contained and disposed in accordance with State and Federal regulations in an approved, licensed land fill. *All roofs have one layer of shingles. 2.Installation of new roof material: "Contractor shall install 15 lb. felt between deck and shingles. "Install starter shingles, roofing shingles and ridge cap in accordance with manufactures application instructions. Note: see bullet on fasteners. "Shingles shall be high definition Timberline 30 Shakewood, with matching ridge cap. Replace drip edge with large brown drip edge, and replace roof vent boots and flashing where installed. "No fasteners, used to secure roofing shingles and all other materials, shall protrude through the underside of roof deck into the finished ceiling; however, maximum length of fastener shall be used. The length of fastener may not meet the manufactures recommendations but all efforts to fulfill manufactures requirements and not to protrude through the roof deck into the finished ceiling shall be selected. All fasteners shall be corrosion resistant; no staples are expectable. Decking material varies in thickness from one type of structure to another. 3.The contractor will replace damaged roof deck, as needed, to include fasteners. *Government furnished material: 5/8 plywood. 4.All bidders are encouraged to visit site areas prior to bidding to obtain accurate dimensions and supplies needed. *Contractors shall furnish Equipment, and Labor to perform the following tasks; *Government shall furnish all roofing materials except for fasteners, and vent boot materials located at the following parks: Long Shoal 2 Quad Buildings Windsor Crossing 2 Vault Toilets 1 Well House Talley Bend 2 Vault Toilets Note: The solicitation will list all locations and final building count. FAR 36.204 -- Disclosure of the Magnitude of Construction Projects (b) Between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00 Solicitation will be post on or before 22 April 2010. RFQs will be due by the Close of Business 5 May 2010, based on a 22 April solicitation posting.
