- The Government intends to issue a Sole Source contract, in accordance withFAR 6.302-1 to SCANA located at 1426 Main Street Columbia, SC 29201-0000 for the procurement of the right to use a pair of fiber optic cables in a ringed configuration for data transmission between four locations. The following locations will be a part of the ringed configuration: 1 Innovation Drive North Charleston, SC 1545 Truxton Avenue North Charleston, SC 1621 Avenue B North, North Charleston, SC Hobson Avenue Building 237 North Charleston, SC The fiber optic cables must be in a ringed configuration that supports a 100 GHz DWDM ring with 40 ITU G.694.1-compliant wavelengths with the following requirements: The fiber optic cables must be single mode fiber at 8.3/125 micron (core/cladding dimension) with the wavelength at 1310/1550 (nm) with LC patch panel connectors. The distance loss shall be no more than 15 dB loss between each location on the ring. SCC-LANT intends to use SSC-LANT owned and operated equipment on fiber optic cable currently installed for transport and control of data flow on the fiber optic cable from end-to-end. SSC-LANT intends to use no other additional equipment for this operation. The procurement of equipment to use on the fiber optic cables is not part of this procurement. The Government anticipates award of a Firm Fixed Price, Indefinite-Delivery, Indefinite-Quantity, commercial type contract for one (1) base year and four (4), one-year option periods under FAR Part 13.5 Test Program for Certain Commercial Items for the requirement. The NAICS Code is 517110 and the applicable size standard is 1,500 employees. NO SOLICITATION WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE AS A RESULT OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. Any firm that believes that it can provide these services may give written notification to the individual identified below. Any response to this announcement must be received no later than 14:00 EDT, 20 April 2010.Any responses will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed action is solely within the discretion of the Government.
