- The US Post Office and Courthouse in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has a need for the replacement of lighting and lighting controls throughout the stairwells of the building with energy saving LED bi-level fixtures as well as the removal of the wire mold providing the power to the fixtures. The wiring will need to be placed in conduit behind the walls and ceilings. The walls and ceilings will need to be patched and painted to match original conditions. A lighting control, system will be installed to control and monitor the existing lighting in the entire building as well as allow energy usage to be monitored and studied by zone floor or tenant. This type of system allows the building management to set parameters of lighting use, based on the tenant usage of the space. The lighting controls will utilize local controls for each space including occupancy sensors in various size offices and bathrooms. Currently, energy is being expended lighting unoccupied space. This project will decrease the level of wasted energy by installing sensors that will shut off lights in public bathrooms and offices when those facilities are not in use. It will also decrease the lighting throughout the stairwells when not in use. This notice of intent is not a request for competitve proposals. The General Services Administration (GSA) intends to issue a sole source 8(a) contract award to Eagle Design, Inc. for this procurement pursuant to FAR 19.804-2. However, all proposals received within 30 days after the date of this publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirment or submit proposals or questions to Mark R. Talarico, Contract Specialist at mark.talarico@gsa.gov. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is soley within the discretion of the Government.
