UNDER CONTRACT NUMBER NNA09DB39C FOR AEROSPACETESTING AND FACILITIES OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE SUPPORT AT NASA AMES RESEARCH CENTER(ARC) LOCATED AT MOFFETT FIELD, CA. THIS IS AUTHORIZED UNDER THE AMERICAN RECOVERY ANDREINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009 (ARRA). ARC modified contract number NNA09DB39C to fully fundTask Order A002 with ARRA funds. ARC issued Task Order A002, titled: Evaluation of sonicboom measurement test techniques to be funded by the Recovery Act. This task supportsNASA Recovery Act work sponsored by the Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate and theAeronautics Test Program. This task provides the facility support necessary to performwind tunnel testing specifically aimed at assessing sonic boom levels that can beexpected from future aircraft designs and is funded by the Recovery Act. Specifically,this Recovery Act research shall include wind tunnel assessment of aircraft designs thatare optimized for low sonic-boom generation. This testing enables community acceptanceof supersonic flight over land. Task Order A002 is fully funded by the Recovery Act. <P>The Aerospace Testing and Facilities Operations and Maintenance (ATOM) contractNNA09DB39C was awarded on a competitive basis.<P>This announcement is for informational purposes only.
