Description
THIS IS A SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE PROCUREMENT. The FAA is seeking experienced firms to perform various work at the Indianapolis ARTCC in Indianapolis, Indiana. Work consists of but is not limited to the following:A.) Replacement of fan coil units and water lift stations; B.) Replacement of four (4) air handling units and associated piping; C.) Replacement of the BUEC Panelboard; D.) Update of electrical vaults with water monitoring system and: E.) Insulation of the chilled water and condenser water system piping of the Cooling Tower to be completed at the Indianapolis ARTCC 1850 Sigsbee Street, Indianapolis, Indiana.Work under this transmittal includes, but is not limited to, the following:A. Replacement of fan coil units in the Control Wing Basement and the replacement of water lift stations in the Administration Wing, Automation Wing and Control Wing Basements:1.Control Wing Basement Fan Coil Unit (Room B111): Replace the fan coil unit in 'Power Vault Electrical, Room B-111'. Replacement work includes, but is not limited to, the following: Chilled water ceiling mounted fan coil unit, control valve, chilled water supply & return piping, thermostat, fan speed control and associated power wiring, control and supports etc.2.Admin Wing Basement Sewer Water Lift Station (Room B103): Replace the Storm sewer water lift station in 'Vestibule', Room B103. Replacement work includes, but is not limited to, the following: Two (2) vertical storm/sewer pumps, motors, steel cover, piping, valves, piping supports, associated controls, power wiring and control panels etc. 3.Room B103: Abate approximately 25 linear feet of ACM piping insulation. Abatement is required prior to equipment removal.4.Automation Wing Basement Water Lift Station (Room B136): Replace the storm water lift station in 'Pump Room', Room B136. Replacement work includes, but is not limited to, the following: Two (2) vertical storm sewer pumps, motors, steel cover, piping, valves, piping supports, associated controls, power wiring and control panels etc.5.Control Wing Basement Water Lift Station (Room B101B): Replace the storm water lift station in 'Vestibule', Room B101B. Replacement work includes, but is not limited to, the following: Two (2) vertical sump pumps, motors, steel cover, piping, valves, piping supports, associated controls, power wiring and control panels etc.B. Replacement of four (4) air handling units and associated piping in the HOST Mechanical Equipment Room (B119) in the Control Wing Basement:6.Remove AHU-21, AHU-22, AHU-23 and AHU-24 and replace with new units in the Host Mechanical Room (B119).7.Replace associated piping as indicated on Drawing: ZID-D-ARTCC-M005, including the following:a.Partial 2 1/2" chilled water supply and return piping.b.Partial 1" reheat hot water supply and return piping.c.Partial 3/4" low pressure steam supply and steam condensate return piping.d.Partial 3/4" copper drain piping.e.Insulation for all exposed piping under the raised floor.8.Disable, disconnect, reconnect and enable existing DDC points as indicated on Drawing: ZID-D-ARTCC-M005.C. Replacement of the BUEC Panelboard in the Control Wing Attic:9.Demolition: Open and ground in building service power Panelboard BB, the 100 amp 3-pole circuit breaker supplying the BUEC Panelboard and disconnect the wires, conduit and supports to the BUEC Panelboard.10.Demolition: In a cutover sequence of work, demolish the BUEC Panelboard.11.Demolish the existing wooden structure in the area of the existing BUEC Panelboard.12.Provide, as replacement for the BUEC Panelboard, a junction box.13.Provide, now, from circuit breakers in essential power Panelboard E3002D, the circuits that had been supplied from the BUEC Panelboard. Splice all wires in the new junction box of item #12 above.14.Core drill through the attic wall in order to make the connection from the new junction box to Panelboard E3002D. 15.Provide an 18" x 20' vertically mounted cable ladder along with an 18" x 3' horizontally mounted cable ladder in the area of the existing BUEC Panelboard and the temporary wood structure, in order to secure/support the dangling communications cables.E.Update of electrical vaults with water monitoring system:16.Provide water leak detection system in Chiller Room (B115); fabricate and provide drip pan and leak detection cables on drip pan. Drip pan shall be located under sanitary sewer pipe. Provide 1" drain line and route drain pipe to nearest floor drain.17.Provide water leak detection system in Workshop/MCC Room (B113); fabricate and provide drip pan and leak detection cables on drip pan for MCC-B. Drip pan shall be located under chilled water and hot water supply and return pipes. Provide 1" drain line and route drain pipe to nearest floor drain.18.Provide one TraceTek control panel and alarm output to DDC for both leak detection systems as mention in items 16 and 17. The TraceTek panel shall be located in the Workshop/MCC Room (B113).F.Insulation of the outdoor condenser water system piping of the Cooling Tower:19.Remove existing pipe insulation including vapor barriers and jackets.20.Clean and dry existing surfaces in preparation of insulation installation. 21.Apply fiberglass insulation and protective jacketing on all exposed pipe surfaces, over connections, fittings and valves, and at all pipe penetrations.22.Other work as required on the project drawings and in the specifications of Parts A, B, C, D and E. Note: Asbestos Abatement The asbestos abatement Contractor shall be licensed by the State of Indiana. The abatement contractor must have a minimum of three (3) years of successful abatement experience working in the State of Indiana. Asbestos Abatement Plan: The Contractor is required to submit a detailed plan and schedule of the work procedures to be used in the removal of asbestos containing materials. The NAICS code for the acquisition is 236220. To be considered for the award of this project, the contractor must be currently registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database (website: ww.ccr.gov). Offer range is between $250,000 and $500,000 with a performance time of approximately 180 calendar days. Work is anticipated to start May/ June 2010.
