Description
In accordance with FAR 6.302 the Department of Veterans Affairs Mid Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN 6)intends to negotiate a sole source commercial item procurement with Motorola Inc for installation of a Motorola Voice Interoperability Plan for Emergency Responders (VIPER) custom bi-directional Amplifier (BDA) for the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Durham, NC. The in-building distributed antenna system shall work in conjunction with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol VIPER 800 MHz radio system and the existing Motorola system within the Medical Center. This proposed procurement is for all services and products which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement no later than Noon, April 20, 2010, local time. Interested parties must submit all technical information required to make a determination they have oem qualified/trained technicians on staff, Motorola approved parts and products in stock, as well as all materials, tools, labor and equipment available to complete the work required. Work includes running cable, setting up firewalls, and storage of the equipment in accordance with the guidelines set up with the Medical Center IT staff. Worker on the project must have received and provide proof of Medical Center clearances to work within the computer/security communication infrastructure. Interested party shall be an authorized local service center located within fifty (50) miles of the Medical Center to allow for continued service and support. All work must be completed by May 30, 2010. All required information is to be e-mailed to barbara.simmons@va.gov not later than noon April 20, 2010. Any questions must be providing in writing via e-mail to the address noted above and none will be accepted after noon April 4, 2010. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
