- Description
- NOTICE OF INTENT: Western Area Power Administration (WAPA), DesertSouthwest Customer Service Region (DSW) intends to award a contract on a sole source basis to General Electric Canada under the authority of 41 USC 253(c)(1), only one responsible source to provide Remote Terminal Unit equipment that will be used for new installations, replacements, upgrades, and maintenance of equipment used for the control and monitoring of electrical power substations. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 334290; size standard is 750. The basis for the sole source award to General Electric Canada is outlined in the Single Source Justification attached. The proposed contract is for supply/ services which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority in FAR 13.5. The resulting procurement will be conducted in accordance with FAR Part 12 and 13. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement in response to this requirement, which shall be considered by the agency. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All questions and responses are due not later than April 22, 2010 3:00PM PST. No solicitation will be posted.
