- Date: 2009 April 16 SOLICITATION NO. W9128F-10-B-0019 On or about 28 April 2010, this office will issue Invitation for Bid for construction of the Rehabilitate East & West Toe Roads, Ft. Randall Project, Pickstown, SD. The solicitation will close on or about 28 May 2010. This solicitation is RESTRICTED TO HISTORICALLY UNDERUTILIZED BUSINESS ZONE or HUBZONE SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION. Contractors interested in inspecting the site of the proposed work should contact Russell Kieffer, Fort Randall Project, Pickstown, SD. See "Obtaining Solicitation Documents" below. _______________________________________________________________________________ Project Description: (Approx. quantities) The Fort Randall project road work consists of approximately 42,100 SY of existing asphalt roadway. Work will include salvaging and processing the existing asphalt, combining and re-compacting the salvaged asphalt with the existing base course material and overlaying the new compacted base course with asphalt to a 3-inch Thickness. All work shall conform to the applicable sections of the SD Standard Specifications for Roads and Bridges. Asphalt mix shall be a Class G, Type 2. The new roadway will then receive standard shoulder lines: dashed, single and double centerlines: and stop bar lines. Options for this work include 2,200 SY on the Spillway Road, 1160 SY on the north Switchyard Road and 311 SY at the Fuel Island. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $750,000 and $1,000,000. _____________________________________________________________________________ The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 120 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety.
