- The United States Environmental Protection Agency Region 1 is hereby requesting information about an automated solvent evaporator with built in solvent recovery system. Please see the below specifications. This is not a request for proposals, quotes, or bid. Vendors having the capabilities necessary to meet or exceed the stated requirements are invited to submit appropriate documentation, literature, brochures, and references. All questions should be submitted in writing to: Brandon Williams at email address: Williams.Brandon@epa.gov. This sources sought is for information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 333911. The Small Business size standard is 500. Line Item 1: (1) Automated Solvent Evaporator Line Item 1 Functional Requirements: a)Automated Solvent Evaporator with built in recovery system b) Capable of rapidly evaporating organic solvents with boiling points from 30 to 160 C including water c)Evaporation from sample vials with volumes from 1 mL up to 30mL d)Unattended Evaporation minimum of 16 samples per run batch e)Centrifugal Evaporation: evaporation using high speed rotary evaporation with uniform infrared controlled heating and vacuum drying with >98% solvent recovery f)Fast solvent evaporation for methanol, water, and other organic solvents g)Automatic end of run sample detection (with robotic sample replacement) h)Method configurable data storage for a variety of evaporation techniques Line Item 1 Physical Requirements: a)Equipment shall fit in a laboratory counter space with the following dimensions: 20" X 20" X 22" Line Item 1 Interface Requirements: a)The system shall be able to interface through RS232 or TCP/IP Switched I/O Line Item 1 Training Requirements: a)The contractor shall provide on-site training on the operation of the component at the time of installation for (2) EPA Employees Line Item 1 Service and Support Requirements: a)The system shall include a two-year warranty covering parts, labor, and travel. Please provide warranty terms and conditions. Line Item 1 Reporting and Documentation Requirements: a)The contractor shall include a copy of the operational manual. Line Item 1 Delivery Schedule: a)Delivery within 38 days from award.
