- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Benefits Administration, Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Division, St. Louis Regional Office, is seeking qualified contractors for Independent Living home modifications, alterations and/or construction services on private residences owned by eligible disabled veterans throughout the State of Missouri. This is a Sources Sought announcement only. There is NO obligation for the VA to contract for these services under this announcement. Typical projects may include construction of ramps, bathroom renovations, stairlift installations, and other home modifications/alterations that may enhance the safety and home accessibility for disabled veterans under our program. Projects usually run between $2,500 and $25,000, depending upon complexity/level of effort required. Any projects determined to cost in excess of $30,000 will require bonding. Contractors must have good credit as advance payments will not be granted. These projects are 100% set-aside for small business. Any and all requirements for these services will be competed. Special consideration will be given to Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB) who are capable of performing the services and/or are located in the state of Missouri. Contractors must be registered in Central Contractor Registration (CCR) https://www.bpn.gov/CCR/default.aspx Contractors claiming SDVOSB or VOSB status must also be registered and verified in the Vendor Information Pages at VetBiz.gov: http://www.vetbiz.gov/vip/verify.htm Interested contractors are requested to submit a short Capabilities Statement to the address below by 4:00 pm Central Time, May 21, 2010. Telephonic inquiries will not be honored. All information provided will become the property of the Department of Veterans Affairs and will not be returned.
