The fiber laser system will be used as a laboratory source for the investigation of laser effects on materials. The fiber laser shall be of a high power, single mode source with excellent beam quality. Additionally, the fiber laser system will be used as one of multiple sources to achieve a multi-kW source by the use of the spectral beam combining technique. Thus a narrow-line width source is required to allow multiple sources at different wavelengths to be combined with a high-quality output beam. The following specifications are a random sampling and not all inclusive for a complete list of specifications please see the RFQ. 1) Fiber Laser Specifications Wavelength: 1065 nm +/- 4 nm, 2) Power: greater than 1000 W, 3) Line width: less than 7 GHz, 4) Beam quality: Single-mode, Gaussian profile with M2 1.5, 5) Polarization extinction ratio: greater than 90:1, 6) Manuals Paper copies of all maintenance, operating, and software manuals for all system components are to be considered part of this acquisition. 7) Delivery: An off-the-shelf system is desired and delivery will be required within 90 days from receipt of order.
