- THIS IS A PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE: The Bruce W. Carter VA Medical Center (hereafter "The VA" or VA"), located at 1201 NW 16th St Miami, FL 33125, intends to release a competitive Request for Proposals (RFP) numbered VA-248-10-RP-0406, for a project entitled "Perform Preventive Maintenance on approximately 306 Induction Units for Floors 4-11 in the Main building of the Medical Center. The successful vendor will be required to provide all labor, materials, equipment and supervision to insure the expeditious accomplishment of the project. The contractor will be required to follow the Statement of Work to perform Preventive Maintenance on the induction units IAW the scope of work. The current intent, award a contract in accordance with Public Law (PL) 109-461and IL 049-07-08 competitively via a 100% Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) set-aside. This is intended to be a limited source competitive RFP, meaning that SDVOSB firms experienced in providing Preventive Maintenance of Induction units in accordance with VA regulations, the Joint Commission and all other applicable federal, state, and local codes will be invited to compete for this project. The VA intends to release this RFP with competition restricted completely to Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses. The applicable NAICS code will be 236220. The $33.5M. The magnitude of the project is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00 The Period of Performance is expected to be twenty days (90) days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed A bid/guarantee bond is required with all offers Performance and payment bond will be required within 10 days of award. The VA anticipates the use of a "best value/tradeoffs" evaluation method that will include both an analysis of past performance, on similar type and magnitude projects, Qualification on construction personnel and price. A pre-proposal site visit will be scheduled at the place of performance. Attendance is required for all prospective offerors, in order to get a full understanding of the work required to successfully complete contract performance. The Request for Proposal is expected to be released on or about 06 May 2010, unless this notice is modified, the full RFP will be posted to the Government-wide Point of Entry (www.fbo.gov) sometime between that date and the end of June 2010 This is a pre-solicitation notice synopsizing an upcoming competitive solicitation to satisfy the requirements of FAR 5.201 and 5.203.
