- RECOVERY - THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTOR UNDER W912HN-08-C-0029, for Maintenance, Repair, Minor Construction and Operation for J. Strom Thurmond Lake, Dam and Power Plant and New Savannah Bluff Lock and Dam, Clarks Hill, South Carolina. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District, intends to issue a funding modification to contract W912HN-08-C-0029 using American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds to improve facilities at the old Men's Christian lease area in Modoc, South Carolina. These improvements to the area will be used by the construction contractor for the staging area while installing underwater oxygen diffusers for the Richard B. Russell Project's construction of the oxygenation facility in the Modoc area of the J. Strom Thurmond Dam and Lake. The improvements include: move existing courtesy dock to this location and install dock abutment; remove stumps at end of existing gravel road to improve turning radius and add gravel to turnaround, two parking lots, and existing roadway; and install new gate to replace existing pipe gate.
