Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopses and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) intends to procure, on a Sole Source basis, from K2 Energy Solutions, Inc., 1125 American Pacific Drive, Suite C, Henderson, NV 89074, the following: two (2) 304V (nominal), 39 Ah (11.9 KWh) Lithium-Ion Battery Systems with Battery Management System (BMS) and Charger.The Technical Specifications for the Lithium-Ion battery packs are as follows: 1) Must deliver 75kW power at 300VDC nominal voltage, for 1 second out of every 8-second cycle. This is the power drawn by the electrical loads; 2) Must sustain above power draw for up to 100 cycles without the system voltage falling below 270VDC during discharge. This is the lowest voltage that can be tolerated by the electrical cords; 3) A Battery Management System must be included in the design to manage the battery charging process, as well as to provide controlled shut-down protection in the event of electrical faults; and 4) Delivery of the battery pack is required no later than 6 months after receipt of order. The North American Industry Classification System Code is 335911. The associated standard industrial classification code is 3691; the Small Business Size Standard is 500 employees. Award date is anticipated to be 07 May 2010. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency no later than 2:00 pm on 29 April 2010.
