- ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY Project Location: Zion National ParkNAICS Code: 336350Contracting POC: Pamela R. Volmer, Contracting OfficerPhone: 303-969-2272Email: Pamela_Volmer@nps.gov This is NOT a Request for Proposals. The purpose of this notice is only to announce the intent of the government. The Department of Interior, The National Park Service, Intermountain Region, intends to award a sole source, Commercial procurement with El Dorado National, 13900 Sycamore Way, Chino, CA 91710 for the replacement of nine (9) existing trailers located at Zion National Park. Replacement trailers will be utilized as part of the shuttle bus system near Springdale, Utah. A)This acquisition is being conducted under the procedures of FAR 5.201 and 6.302. Work will be completed in accordance with government furnished specifications and plans. The subsequent contract will be awarded in accordance with FAR Parts 12 and 13 as a commercial services contract. The Government believes that the identified contractor is the "only one responsible source", as defined by FAR 6.302-1, for the required vehicles. Firms that believe they can provide the required vehicles described below are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notice to the Contracting Officer as noted below. B)Title of Project: Replacement of Zion Transit Trailers C)Brief Description of Project Scope: Procure nine (9) 30 foot, 96-inch wide Transmark -RE-29 sleek, streamlined, and aesthetically designed light weight duty Shuttle Passenger Trailers conforming to Zion National Park Service specifications. The Transmark-Trailer is to be designed and manufactured to provide maximum commonality of components with the Transmark RE-29 bus. The body structure and materials should be identical to the bus as tested at the FTA-Bus Testing and Research Center for a Ten (10) year/350,000 mile transit application life cycle. Bus and trailers will operate on the roads within Zion National Park. Zion NP procured nine new buses from El Dorado National in 2009 and it is the government's intent to sole source procure nine new trailers units to be delivered concurrently with the new buses. The new trailer units are to be manufactured in accordance with the 1999 specifications (attached) in terms of size, style, color, weight and dimensions. D) Estimated Price Range: Between $1 Million and $5 Million E) Proposed Contract Type: A firm-fixed commercial supply contract is anticipated using simplified acquisition methods. F)A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Inquiries will only be accepted by mail at: 12795 West Alameda Parkway, Lakewood, CO 80228. Responses should include the contractor's DUN and Bradstreet Number, Central Contractor Registration, ORCA, and identification of the contractor's business size in accordance with the size standard.
