- NASA/MSFC has a requirement for 1 Flammability Test Chamber per the followingspecifications:Specifications:1. Cylindrical test chamber Shall be fabricated from 316 stainless steel2. Size shall be approximately 48-inch long by 36-inch diameter cylinder3. Volume tolerance = 33 cubic feet to 36 cubic feet4. Shall have a quick opening door covering the entire front side of the chamber5. Shall be designed per ASME Section VIII Div I for 50 psig at 300F6. Shall be able to handle pressures of vacuum to 250 psig7. Shall have 2-inch, or greater, diameter viewport windows, with at least 4 of thesewindows positioned on the horizontal center axis at door and both long sides staggered togive full view of chamber contents8. Shall have the following fittings, as a minimum, on the top of the chamber:(a) Four 1/4' npt fill fittings located at the top of the chamber(b) Four 1/2' npt fill fittings located at the top of the chamber(C) One 4' rupture disk at the top of the chamber(d) One flange for 6 thermocouple feed through and 10 coaxial power feed throughlocated at the top of the chamber(e) One 1' flush mount npt female at the bottom of the chamber for drain.(f) One 2' npt fitting at rear (g) One 6' flange located at rear (h) Two 4' flanges located at rear9. Interior nozzles and surfaces shall be 316 stainless steel with locking ring10. Exterior attachments may be carbon steel or any steel11. Shall have upper and lower instrument enclosures of any steel12. Shall include hydraulic power pack, cylinders and hoses13. Exterior shall be carbon steel seep blasted, prime painted and finish painted withenamel14. Interior shall be welded and mill finishedThis notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared inaccordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additionalinformation included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the onlysolicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are beingrequested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to usethe On-Line RFQ system to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system may be accessed athttp://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin=. The information requiredby FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the SimplifiedAcquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13.Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing by e-mail no later thanMay 10, 2010. It is the quoter's responsibility to monitor this site for the release ofamendments (if any).
