Description
The Maritime Administration’s Division of Atlantic Operations (DAO) is soliciting price quotations to accomplish tank diagnostic work, fuel and lube oil removal, tank cleaning, and ballasting onboard the CAPE CHALMERS. The CAPE CHALMERS is the training vessel located at Pier Quebec, Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), North Charleston, South Carolina. The ship is in an inactive status, is not manned, and has no firemain, LP air, or other service capability other than shore electrical power. Contractor will be required to provide firewatches, fire-fighting equipment, crane and rigging services, and all other safety equipment as necessary in the performance of this work. The following general conditions shall apply to each work item in this package: - All work is to be accomplished in accordance with standard marine practice. - All labor, parts, material, etc. are to be contractor furnished. - Remove and reinstall interferences as required for the accomplishment of this work. - Accomplish touch-up painting of all new and disturbed surfaces. - Accomplish thorough clean-up of work areas. - All waste products, trash, scrap, etc. generated by this work shall be properly disposed of by the contractor in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations. - All work is to be coordinated with and to the satisfaction of the on-site MARAD Surveyor. The RFQ and any related documents for this procurement will be available for downloading on the Federal Business Opportunities website on/about May 12, 2010. ATTENTION: Minority, Women-Owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs)! The Department of Transportation (DOT), Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts. Maximum line of credit is $750,000 with interest at the prime rate, as published daily in the Wall Street Journal, plus 1.75 percent.
