- RECOVERY - PER FAR 5.7 THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY; THEREFORE FAR 5.203 DOES NOT APPLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTOR(S) UNDER THE CURRENT CONTRACT NUMBER(S): Bowhead Science and Technology, LLC W91278-10-D-0001 Science and Technical Services Using recovery Act funding, the Mobile District Corps of Engineers intends to issue a task order against contract number W91278-10-D-0001, a Sole Sourced 8(a) Fixed Price Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for Scientific and Technical Support for the Mobile District Corps of Engineers awarded to Bowhead Science and Technology, LLC, 7851 Dolleys Court, King George, VA 22485. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: In support of the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Inland Electronic Navigational Charts (IENCs) and the USACE navigation business line, the contractor will gather, edit and review the drawings needed to build a national channel framework. With the advances in survey and navigation technology, accurate channel data is more important than ever to the maritime community. Given the level of detail on the electronic navigation charts and the accuracy of the Global Positioning System being used by mariners, it is critical to have more accurate data than in the past. NOAA and USACE are working together to meet the goal of accurately portraying channel framework. The existing contract must be used for the following reason: 1) The work to be performed is within scope of the original contract. 2) The incumbent contract has the management, technical and administrative skills to efficiently and effectively accomplish this work. 3) This contract enables the work to begin immediately. Contract clauses required for project involving Recovery Act funds have been incorporated into the existing contract. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) contain specific acquisition requirements that must be met when using Recovery Act funds, including compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation.
