- Description
- Construction Project No. 656-10-171, entitled Replace Flat Roofs at the VA Medical Center, St. Cloud, Minnesota. This solicitation is issued as an IFB ( Invitation for Bid) construction project, which is 100% SET ASIDE FOR SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS firms. All bidders must be registered on www.ccr.gov and https://orca.bpn.gov by the bid due date. The NAICS code is 236220. Contractor shall furnish all labor, tools and equipment required to replace existing flat roofs on Buildings 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 13, 14, 28, 57, 59, 87, 94, 95, 97, 98, 99, 102, and 103 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Work will consist of the demolition of flat roofs which are comprised of EPDM membranes, cants, tapered insulation, ballast, roof drains, vent stack flashing, exhaust fan stack flashing, counter flashing, parapet wall caps, fascia, gutters and downspouts, and other demolition necessary for installation of new EDPM roofing systems. The installation of new EDPM roofing systems will consist of installing new EPDM roofing membranes, new tapered insulation, new ballast, new fascia, new gutters and downspouts, new counter flashing, flashing, new vent flashing, new exhaust fan stack flashing, new cants, new roof drains, metal fabrication and other items necessary for installation of new roofing systems. Make modifications necessary to the buildings perimeter for installation of safety lanyard hook-up devices for fall arrest protection at the perimeter of each flat roof. All demolition and installation will be performed as required by the contract documents and Federal specifications. Liquidated damages do NOT apply to this project. Potential offerors to note the OSHA training requirements as listed in the General Requirements section. Work cannot commence until the VA has received proof of required OSHA training. Any amendments issued to this solicitation will ONLY be available on www.fbo.gov. Bidders are advised that they are responsible for obtaining all amendments. NO HARD COPY DOCUMENTS WILL BE AVAILABLE. All project information will be available free of charge on www.fbo.gov. No bidders mailing lists are maintained by the Contracting Officer. The interested parties list is available on www.fbo.gov. The estimated dollar value for this procurement is between $$500,000 to $1,000,000. NO TELEPHONE QUESTIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for 5/27/10 at 1:00 p.m. CST in Building 3 Room 207C; attendance is not mandatory but is strongly encouraged. A public bid opening will be held on 6/17/10 at 2PM CST when bids are due. Electronic or faxed bids will NOT be accepted. This project requires bidders to secure bonding. Award is subject to the availability of funds.
