- Manual Boat Poles The Natick Soldier Research Development and Engineering Center is requesting information from sources capable of satisfying the need for immediate development and/or procurement of a Manual Boat Pole. The Manual Boat Pole consists of, but is not limited to, the following requirements: a.Maximum Extended Length of 30 feet (Threshold), 40 feet (Objective) b.Maximum Retracted Length of 8 feet c.Maximum Weight 10 pounds (T), 6 pounds (O) d.Maximum Pole Diameter of 2.5 inches e.Must include Common Interface Tip f.Materials must be resistant to saltwater corrosion g.Pole components must be able to drain water h.Pole must be capable of set up by two men (T), one man (O) i.Pole must be capable of being modified for neutral buoyancy (T), be inherently neutrally buoyant (O) Sources capable of satisfying the above requirements should submit product literature to determine level of compliance with the performance objectives and/or a whitepaper/proposal containing the the following information: 1) Identification of your company/organization, company point of contact, notification of business size and/or special status. 2) Conceptual drawings/sketches for a manual boat pole with proposed material. 3) Description/literature of the proposed system and how it fully or partially meets the requirements. 4) Estimated time to develop and build the first functional prototype for developmental testing and possible further modifications. 5) Estimated cost to develop and build a functional prototype for Developmental and Operational Testing. 6) Any information that may be useful to the successful development/modification of an item that meets the requirements. 7) Other qualifications/technical data relevant to the industrial design, mechanical analysis, development and production of the system should be included. 8) (Optional) Provide a sample system. This market survey is for informational and planning purposes only, does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP), and is not to be construed as a commitment by the U. S. Government. The Government implies no intention or opportunity to acquire funding to support current or future development efforts. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of this market survey. Respondents will not be notified of the results of this survey or results of information submitted. Any information submitted will not be returned. If a firm chooses to submit samples they must pre-coordinate the shipment with the POC below. No payment will be made by the Government for such samples, and the samples will be returned at each company's request and each company desiring to submit or have a sample returned shall arrange for shipment at no cost to the Government.
