Description
The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS), Tucson, AZ intends to negotiate sole source with Resource Systems, 140 S. Friendship Dr., New Concord, OH 43762 to procure an upgrade to the existing Patient CareTracker System. The system upgrade shall consist of the following items: 1. #11900-CARE-0000 CareTracker Module Bundle: 1 each 2. #11600-CARE-0000 Enterprise Kiosk Seat Fee: 4 each 3. # 40705-INTE-0000 Accumed Resident Data Transfer: 1 each 4. #40715-INTE-0000 Accumed MDS Publishing: 1 each 5. #40805-INTE-0000 EIS Single License: 1 each 6. #11336-CARE-0000 CareTracker Mobile Feature Pack: 1 each 7. #11010-CARE-0000 CareTracker Mobile Seat: 10 each 8. #30375-SOMO-0000 Socket SoMo 650 Pocket PC: 10 each 9. #30380-SOMO-0000 Socket SoMo Extended Life Battery: 10 each 10. #30390-SOMO-0000 Socket SoMo Scanner: 10 each 11. #26970-POSI-0000 Posiflex KS6300 w/Persona URU: 4 each 12. #61615-MREN-0000 Socket SoMo 650 Maintenance Re: 10 each 13. #70275-SUPP-0000 CareTracker Premium Support: 1 each This procurement is a follow on purchase to upgrade the existing patient care tracker system provided by Resource Systems. The patient care tracker system to be upgraded provides an automated ability to track a variety of patient quality indicators and measurements used in daily patient care and was specifically designed to meet long term health care demands. The system has proven to greatly increase accuracy and timeliness of patient record documentation and reduce duplication of same compared with the previous paper based system. This results in improved patient outcomes and workload capture. The upgrade to the existing system will further improve upon the automated patient tracking attributes as part of the upgrade will provide hand held devices allowing nursing staff to record patient care data immediately as required at the point of care. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) #VA-258-10-RQ-0143. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) #2005-40. FAR 52.212-5 Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items. The following FAR clauses within 52.212-5 apply: 52.222-19 Child Labor-Cooperation with Authorities and Remedies; 52.222-21, Prohibition of Segregated Facilities; 52.222-26 Equal Opportunity; 52.222-36 Affirmative Action for Workers with Disabilities; 52.232-34 Payment by Electronic Funds Transfer-Other than Central Contractor Registration. This acquisition shall be conducted in accordance with FAR part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals/quotations. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement by e-mail to the Contracting Officer, no later than 3:30PM local time on May 7, 2010. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
