N40085-10-R-3006Notice Type: Sources Sought Synopsis: The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Mid-Atlantic is seeking eligible firms capable of performing construction services for Ship Repair Replacement, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, Virginia. The purpose of this contract is to replace two deteriorated existing piers with a single ship repair pier. Demolition will include the demolishing existing Piers, Berths, and Buildings and constructing a new ship repair pier that is 1225 feet in length and 230 feet width. Also, to replace existing bulkhead berths with new low-level relieving platform with mechanical and electrical shore-tie stations. The new pier will also include a restroom, salt water pump station building, heavy weather mooring and 40 gauge portal crane rail track and associated site preparation to include utility systems. The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, engineering, materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies and transportation to perform all work described in the contract drawings and specifications. The target award range for this project is between $100,000,000 and $250,000,000. All Businesses will be considered. This office anticipates award of a contract for these services by December 2010. The appropriate NAICS code for this procurement is 237990. THIS SYNOPSIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. This synopsis is a market research tool being used to determine the availability and adequacy of potential business sources. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis. It is requested that interested businesses submit to the contracting officer a brief capabilities statement package (no more than 10 pages in length, single spaced, 12 point font minimum) demonstrating ability to perform the requested services. PAGES IN EXCESS OF THE 10 PAGE LIMIT WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. Provide responses to the following: (1). Have you performed work under NAICS code 237990 with a construction cost of between $100,000,000 and $250,000,000? (2) Relevant Experience. Provide a information to include experience in performing efforts of similar value, size, and scope within the last ten (10) years including contract number, indication of whether your firm acted as a prime or subcontractor, contract value, Government/Agency point of contact and current telephone number, and a brief description of how the contract relates to the technical services described herein. (3) Company Profile to include the following:a. Number of employees.b. Office location(s).c. Available bonding capacity per contract. (Must be able to bond up to the target award of this project)d.
