Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a contract to Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Department of Public Health Sciences, Medical Center Boulevard, Winston-Salem, NC 27157-1063. The Government intends to contract for services to serve as the Data Coordinating Center (DCC) and support for a new cooperative agreement project called "Surveillance, Natural History, Quality of Care and Outcomes of Diabetes Mellitus with Onset in Childhood and Adolescence". The contract type is anticipated to be fixed price. The period of performance is anticipated to be a base and four option periods. The reason for lack of competition is that Wake Forest University is the only organization available to perform the role and responsibilities of data management and data analysis as the Data Coordinating Center (DCC) because of the established communication and coordination among the clinical centers and the infrastructure already set up by Wake Forest University for the collection and analysis of genetic, immunologic, pathogen, and clinical and biological data from the clinical sties. Additionally, Wake Forest University has an established Website for the current SEARCH study and for which the new and continuing grantees under the cooperative agreement project will build upon (www.searchfordiabetes.org). Wake Forest University is also responsible for the support of the study protocol and manual of operations and responsible for the logistics of the Steering Committee meetings, external evaluation committee meetings, and workshops meetings. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however, any firm that believes it is capable of meeting, or exceeding the requirement as stated herein may submit a capabilities statement detailing their capability to include past performance information, which will be considered only if received by response deadline contained in this notice. Email capability statements by the deadline to Angelina H. Waring at fwv2@cdc.gov. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
