- PDF copy of synopsis U.S. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (USDOT) NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION (NHTSA) Solicitation Number: DTNH22-10-Q-00087 Title: Enhanced Safety of Vehicles (EVS) 2011 Conference proceedings, Web-Housing for Peer Review and read-only USB Flash Drive Production and Support Description The United States Department of Transportation (DOT), National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), is responsible for reducing the number of injuries and deaths on highways resulting from vehicle crashes. As part of its mission to reduce fatalities and injuries caused by motor vehicle crashes, the NHTSA promulgates Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS). Background The Office of Vehicle Safety Research serves as the official government agency responsible for implementation of the International Technical Conference on the Enhanced Safety of Vehicles (ESV). This conference was established in 1971 to allow for international sharing of information and issues relating to improvements in vehicle safety, and to gain knowledge of vehicle safety research conditions in participating countries. Thirteen (13) foreign governments and two (2) international organizations are active participants in the conference planning. Each has an assigned Government Focal Point who represents their government or organization in support of the conference held approximately every two years, and a U.S. DOT, NHTSA representative serves as the Government Focal Point Chairperson. Project Objective The Contractor shall furnish the necessary services to provide an existing web-based publishing software application and technical support for author and co-author data including brief biographies (25 word max.) of presenting authors, abstract and paper collection, file conversion, peer-review, publication formatting, and publication production of read- only 1500 USB Flash Drive Proceedings. The USB Flash Drive will contain the final paper submissions, author affiliations, table of contents, along with other conference planning information supplied by NHTSA. The Contractor shall provide NHTSA final USB Flash Drive data for posting on its website. The Contractor shall provide NHTSA a sub-set of the data organized for posting an Abstract booklet on the NHTSA website eight weeks prior to start of conference. This is a synopsis, only. Solicitation: The solicitation DTHN22-10-Q-00087 will be available for downloading from FedBizOpps.gov on or about Thursday, May 6, 2010. All questions regarding this solicitation must be submitted in writing via e-mail to NHTSAOAM@dot.gov no later thanMay 12, 2010.
