Description
The Samuel S. Stratton VA Medical Center (hereafter "The VA" or "VA"), located at 113 Holland Ave., Albany NY 12208, intends to release a competitive Invitation for Bid (IFB) numbered VA-528-10-IB-0141, for a project entitled "Replace Main Kitchen Ductwork" on or about the week of May 17, 2010, unless additional notice is given or this notice is modified, the full IFB will be posted to the Government-wide Point of Entry (www.fbo.gov). The current intention of the VA is to procure these services competitively via a 100% Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) set-aside. The applicable NAICS code will be236220, with an applicable small business size standard of $33.5 Million. The estimated construction value of this project falls within the range of $100,000 and $250,000. Bid, performance and payment bonding will be required to respond to this IFB once released. This is a pre-solicitation notice synopsizing an upcoming competitive solicitation to satisfy the requirements of FAR 5.201 and 5.203. The work to be includes, but is not limited to, the following: Replace the fume hoods duct work over the cooking area in the main kitchen, replace two exhaust fans on the roof serving the hoods and install one VFD on the main AHU unit for the main kitchen area at the Stratton VA Medical Center. Work will take place in an active kitchen and requires precautionary measures in order to allow safe operation of the adjacent food preparation activities. All materials, personnel and trash will have to access the construction area through windows at grade level. The period of performance will be two to three weeks. The Contracting Officer will not be able to answer any questions to this notice until an Invitation for Bids is issued and only by Request for Information (RFI's)
