- This synopsis is to notify interested contractors that the VA Medical Center in Albany, New York is seeking a nucleic acid amplification system to be used for the detection of Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae. This system will be used by the microbiology laboratory at the for testing patient samples from all five VISN 2 medical facilitities. Sample type: The system must allow for the use of urine and genital tract swabs as the primary test sample. Reagents: The reagents used in the test system must be prepackaged and require minimal preparation by laboratory staff. Detection method: The system must use real time methodology for detection of amplified nucleic acids. Instrumentation: The system should be fully automated or at a minimum semi-automated.
