- Description
- This is a Sources Sought Notice for the purpose of conducting market research to identify potential sources that posses the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet Air Force needs in providing oversight and engineering and technical support to the Air Force Corrosion Prevention and Control Office (AFCPCO). Effort shall include oversight and engineering and technical support for corrosion-related activities throughout the lifecycle of AF weapon systems, support equipment, facilities and infrastructure, and to advance and facilitate corrosion policy and the sustainment, modification, RDT&E and transition of corrosion-mitigating technologies and processes for use by the USAF. The Air Force Corrosion Prevention and Control Office (AFCPCO) has the responsibility for providing corrosion prevention and control engineering support and maintaining the overall corrosion program for the United States Air Force. Corrosion prevention and control engineering support consists of support in developing, reviewing, and recommending updates to standardized maintenance practices, materials, and processes across all model design series of aerospace and non-aerospace equipment and systems supported by the Air Force. Introduction of new technology to improve corrosion resistance and dealing with the impact of new corrosion problems resulting from operations are also a primary responsibility, as these functions cover broad spectrum issues not specifically related to individual systems or equipment. Interested parties are invited to submit a Statement of Capabilities (SOC) reflecting interest and capability in meeting the above requirements. Information submitted should be pertinent and specific in the technical areas under consideration as outlined above and on each of the following qualifications: 1. Experience: Provide an outline of projects, specific work previously performed, or any similar type of work that is currently being performed. 2. Personnel: Provide the names, professional qualifications, and specific experience of scientists, engineers, and technical personnel (i.e., principal investigator, project officer) who may be assigned to perform in the technical areas under consideration. 3. Facilities: Provide availability and description of special facilities required to perform in the technical areas under consideration. 4. Security: Provide a statement regarding industry security clearance. 5. Other: Provide any other specific and pertinent information as it pertains to this particular area of procurement that would enhance our consideration and evaluation of the information submitted. Please include the following information with your response: name and address of firm, point of contact and telephone number, business size (i.e., large, small, small disadvantaged, 8(a), woman-owned, veteran-owned, service-disabled veteran owned, HUBZone, HBCU/MI (historically black colleges and universities/minority institutions). Statement of Capabilities are due electronically to the Air Force no later than 21 May 2010 and shall be forwarded to the following e-mail address: lori.shirdon@wpafb.af.mil. Address contractual issues to Lori Shirdon, Contract Negotiator, (937) 255-0429 or Sheila Titer, Contracting Officer, (937) 255-5051. Technical issues may be addressed to Kimberly Andrews (478) 926-7644 or David Ellicks, (478) 926-7701.
