Description
The FAA intends to solicit and award a firm-fixed price construction contract for the Installation of Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI) on Runways 4L and 22R at Detroit Wayne County Metropolitan Airport, Detroit, Michigan. The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, materials, and equipment to perform the project in accordance with the contract clauses, drawings, and specifications. Work under this project consists of, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Furnish competent surveying resources to properly layout the subject sites and provide horizontal and vertical control. 2. Install PAPI facilities, including:(a.) Furnish and install reinforced concrete foundations for the LHAs and for the PAPI rack.(b.) Furnish and install a gravel maintenance plot around the PAPI equipment.(c.) Furnish and install Earth Electrode System (EES).(d.) Trench and install power cable in 2" PVC coated GRS conduit between the existing offset Glide Slope shelter and the LHAs.(e.) Trench and install control cable in 2" PVC coated GRS conduit between the existing offset Glide Slope shelter and the LHAs.(f.) Furnish and install a crushed rock surfaced access road.(g.) Furnish and install PAPI rack and Government Furnished PAPI system. 3. Install and maintain erosion control measures to protect ditches and inlets. 4. Accomplish other incidental duties to accommodate site peculiar conditions. 5. Implement and maintain a quality control plan to ensure contract compliance. Conduct all required tests and checks to verify contract compliance. The work will be performed in strict accordance with the contract drawings and specifications. Contract performance time is 45 calendar days, with an anticipated start date of July 12, 2010. The estimated price range for this procurement is between $250,000 and $500,000. NAICS is 237990. INTERESTED FIRMS MUST HAVE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED SIMILAR PROJECTS BOTH IN DOLLAR AMOUNT AND SCOPE OF WORK AT AN OPERATIONAL AIRPORT. General contractors must submit their interest in subject project on company letterhead and should include the firm's name, address, telephone number, fax number, email address, and point of contact by no later than May 20, 2010, 2:00 p.m. (CT).
