- Description
- The purpose of this synopsis is to notify interested parties that the USTRANSCOM Acquisition Directorate anticipates issuance of a solicitation to provide rotary wing transportation services for CENTCOM’s area of responsibility (AOR) in Afghanistan. A mixture of medium, heavy and super-heavy lift rotary wing aircraft will be needed to fulfill airlift requirements. Estimated quantity is for a total of 50 helicopters. The period of performance will be a 2-month base period plus 5 one year option periods. Offeror must be a FAA 135 and 133 or equivalent CAA regulation certified aircraft carrier, be eligible to be DoD Approved and be able to transport both passengers and/or cargo (to include sling load). Services to be provided under the PWS include rotary wing transport of Class 1-X supplies, U.S. Mail, and passengers. All aircraft shall be operated by two pilots rated in the type, design and series for the aircraft being flown. A DRAFT Request for Proposal (RFP) will be available on Federal Business Opportunities on or about 15 March 2010. USTRANSCOM/Acquisition Directorate will host a Pre-Solicitation Briefing for the upcoming solicitation (HTC711-10-R-R001). The briefing will be held at Scott AFB, Illinois on Thursday, 4 March 2010 from 8:30 am to 11:00 am CST at Rockwell Hall, Bldg P-10, Room B206. Following the Pre-Solicitation Briefing, Individual Carrier Meetings will be available starting at 12:00 pm CST, in 30 minute intervals. Carriers will be limited to no more than 2 representatives, as space is limited. Carriers must identify their intention to attend the Pre-Solicitation Briefing no later than 25 February 2010 to ensure adequate seating capacity and base access. The Government reserves the right to limit participation to one carrier representative if necessary.
