- SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION IS SEEKING A COMPANY THAT SPECIALIZES IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF iPhone APPLICATIONS This is a REQUEST FOR INFORMATION. Reference SSA-RFI-10-1013 when responding to this announcement. This Sources Sought Notice is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government. This notice is intended strictly for market research. The information provided may be used by the Social Security Administration in developing its acquisition strategy and statement of work. This sources sought notice is for planning purposes only and does not commit the Government to pay for the information requested, issue a solicitation, or award a contract. The Social Security Administration (SSA) is conducting a market survey to determine the availability and technical capability of qualified businesses with experience developing mobile applications for the iPhone and other mobile phone platforms. SSA is seeking contractor support with developing a mobile iPhone application that permits the public to access select periodic statistical records of SSA consistent with the Office of Management and Budget's direction for transparency and open government. SSA is seeking vendors who are qualified and have had prior experience developing these types of applications. Qualified vendors should indicate if they are able to provide these services under a FSS, GWAC, etc. Vendors should also indicate their business size status, including if they are a small business, veteran-owned small business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business, 8(a) certified small business, or HUBZone small business. The Government reserves the right to compete any acquisition resulting from this survey, or to issue a direct award to an 8(a) firm, based on the responses received. Sources must sufficiently demonstrate the capability to meet these requirements and must provide detailed experience and qualifications in all previous work pertinent to this effort. Vendors who believe they have the capability to successfully deliver these services are invited to submit information concerning their company's capabilities to SSA. Simple marketing information or incomplete responses will not be considered. Reference to vendor websites is not considered a valid response. This is not a request for proposals and the government does not intend to pay for information submitted. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation of the information received. No contract award will be made on the basis of responses received. Electronic responses to this notice should be submitted, in writing, directly to Nicole.D.Taylor@ssa.gov no later than May 17, 2010, 11:59 pm EST. Questions regarding the information in this RFI will not be answered. Requests for copies of a solicitation will not be honored or acknowledged. NO PHONE CALLS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
