- Description
- The Whitney M. Young Job Corps Center is soliciting bid for a Interior Finishes and Roofing with a walk-thur on May 25, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Small business are encourged to bid. The intent of this Scope of Work is to correct the interior finishes and roofing issues at the Whitney M. Young Job Corps Center. The Center interior finishes and roofing issues include: #52764 Provide adequate flashing and sealant to eliminate gaps between the roof and brick walls. Approximately 360 LF. Provide & install approximately 360 LF of maintenance free guttering to include scuppers downspouts #77416 Hallway Remove:Existing drywall ceiling oExisting floor tile oExisting eye wash station oExisting water fountain Install new 5/8 fire code drywall ceilings Finish existing walls to smooth finish Install new ceramic floor and base tile; 4 X 4; **color specified per center and uniform through entire project Replace light fixture Install new fire control system if existing is inadequate Install new water fountain: center in existing alcove Ladies' Bath Remove:Existing ceiling oExisting floor oAll fixtures oExisting finish wall surfaces to include drywall oCloset and partition wall door Install new drywall ceiling Replace light fixture Install new floor tile Install strip lighting on wall over new sink Upgrade vent to 8 X 8 Install new fire control system if existing is inadequate Install and finish new drywall walls Install new double sink and 2 new commodes Install new toilet partitions as needed Replace all shut off valves Relocate all plumbing lines in wall Replace existing door and frame with new handicapped accessible HM Fire rated door and frame Men's Bath Remove:Existing door and frame oExisting drywall ceiling oAll existing tile floor oAll existing toilet partition oHot water heater closet Rework existing opening for handicapped accessible 36" HM door and frame Install new drywall ceiling Install new ceramic floor Install toilet and 2 urinals **center will provide flush less urinals Install 2 light fixtures Install new sink and counter top Install new partition wall to make mechanical room with 28" HM door and frame and provide lighting Replace and upgrade vent 8x8 All water lines are enclosed in walls and access panels for shut off provided if necessary Rework existing water supply line Install new fire control system if existing is inadequate Drain line Install approx. 30' drain line thru hallway into the old classroom and then into the kitchenette. Remove all tiles in classroom and kitchenette and replace. FM instructor will ID exact location for drain. HVAC Provide and install new heat and cooling unit to service all bath and hall areas. Locate in existing mechanical room; include all necessary duct work, returns, supply and diffusers. Notes All drywall ceilings primed and painted ceiling white. All finish drywall thru out project primed, ready for finished paint. All plumbing, new and existing, must meet code requirements. All existing drain lines that can be used must be checked to assure they are clear and working properly. Existing hot water heater, if it meets service requirement, can be relocated in new mechanical room-close to where it is now. If not, add replacement cost as optional piece of bid. Check with center to determine which plumbing and light fixtures will be provided. #76604 Remove and discard all shingles Remove bad plywood (64 sheets) Install 5/8 OSB (64 sheets Repair in place one bad Truss (only one showed need for repair) Install 2 9" pipe vents Install new felt paper Install snow and ice guard at eaves and valleys Install 56 roof vents Install 400' drip edge Install 25 yr 3-tab shingles (same as existing, color TBD) Remove and replace T-111 board on gables Prime and paint one coat on new T-111 Remove 412 feet of 1x6 fascia board Install 412 feet new primed 1x6 fascia board Paint one coat on primed fascia board Provide a wall mounted 100 CFM exhaust fan with integral back draft damper in each toilet room. Connect the units to the lighting circuits utilizing the existing light switches for fan operations. Recommend using a 30yr architectural shingle such as the GAF "Natural shadow" shingle (http://www.gaf.com/General/GafMain.asp?Silo=RES1&WS=GAF&App=ROOF&Force=shingle- compliment the campus. Along with the 30yr architectural shingle a ridge vent should be install on both the Maintenance building and the FM shop. The ridge vent allows hot air and moisture to flow out of the attic reducing the roof temperature and extending the useful life of the shingles. In addition, it will reduce the inside building temperature in the warmer months resulting in lower energy cost
