Description

This project consists of 4 miles of new trail construction including tread work, turnpike construction, tread stabilization, puncheon construction, culverts, treated timber post and sign installation, and rolling dips. Some rock blasting may be necessary. This project was originally synopsized under Solicitation AG-0356-S-10-0008 which included the notice of 3 segments of the Konda-Champion Trail. The Government estimated magnitude is between $25,000 and $100,000.

Place of Performance

Address: The project is located on the Butte Ranger District of the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest. To see the south end of the project travel north from Butte on Interstate 15 towards Helena, take the Elk Park Exit, 138. Travel along County Road 424 four miles to a junction with Forest Road 9422. Follow 9422 for one mile to a gate. The trail heads northwest up to the divide from the gate. To see the north end of the project instead of turning onto Forest Road 9422, travel an additional mile on County Road 424 to Forest Road 9485. Shortly after passing Lowland Campground there will be a junction with an old logging road on the left side of 9485. The new trail construction junctions with this logging road approximately 600 feet up from 9485., Butte, Montana, 59701, United States
