An oral request for quotations will be solicited for the following item as a small purchase: Roof Cap, Green, Modular Command Post, NSN: 8340-01-331-5422. Quantity: 225 each. One delivery is expected, with delivery due one hundred fifty (150) days after date of award. This solicitation will be a Total Small Business Set-Aside. The destinations for subject items are Defense Depot Barstow, CA and Defense Depot New Cumberland, PA. Submittal of First Article is required seventy-five (75) days after date of award. Specifications, or other applicable documents, can be obtained by contacting Brian McGinley by email at Brian.McGinley@dla.mil. Quotes are due on or before 3:00 PM Eastern on June 1, 2010. Based upon market research, the Government is not using the policies contained in Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, in its solicitation for the described supplies or services. However, interested persons may identify to the contracting officer their interest and capability to satisfy the Government's requirement with a commercial item within 15 days of this notice. DFARS clause 252.211-7006 "Radio Frequency Identification" applies to this solicitation. The Defense appropriations and authorization acts and other statutes (including what is commonly referred to as "The Berry Amendment") impose restrictions on the DoD's acquisition of foreign products and services. Generally, Clothing and Textile items (as defined in DFARS clause 252.225-7012) and "specialty metals" (as defined in DFARS clause 252.225-7014), including the materials and components thereof (other than sensors, electronics, or other items added to, and not normally associated with clothing), must be grown, reprocessed, reused, melted or produced in the United States, its possessions or Puerto Rico, unless one of the DFARS 225.7002-2 exceptions applies.
