- RFI FOR HAND HELD GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEMS. Naval Air Systems Command, Aircrew Systems (NAVAIR-PMA202) of Patuxent River, MD seeks information on commercially available Global Positioning Systems (GPS's). The GPS will be used to provide enhanced survivability for Aviators during post egress survival situations. The GPS must be affordable, water resistant, have a tether point, be rugged, be compact ( less than 8 oz.), have a strong antenna, be MicroSD card compatible, show fast cold fix, have an accurate 3D fix, Military Grid Reference System (MGRS), alarms, celestial tables, minimum 1000 waypoints, minimum 50 reversible routes, minimum of 18 consecutive hours of use on two Double "A" batteries, detailed routable base map with cities, rivers, highways and lakes, elevation computer, and work in a temperature range of 5 degrees to 155 degrees F. Vendor should be able to provide IN-CONUS on site training sessions and ship warranty replacements within 24 hours. Additionally, downloadable free overseas maps should be available. Specification sheets, drawings and photographs are requested from all interested sources at no cost to the Government. Product information shall be submitted at no expense to the Government and will not be returned. Proprietary data MUST be marked on a page-by-page basis, and will be kept confidential and protected in accordance with the Uniform Trades Secret Act. Interested sources shall state whether their product is available commercially, made domestically of domestic textiles (must be Berry compliant - manufacturers must list the origin and place of manufacturing operations of all components).
