Description
Each pipe manufacturer typically has a different method of connecting pipes together, which means that one brand of pipe will not connect to a different brand of pipe without the use of special fittings or adaptors. Because this office currently has approximately 100,000 total feet of ADS N-12 pipe installed in our various dredge material disposal areas, it is important that future pipe purchases be of the same type of pipe in order to keep the pipes interchangeable. In this way, if a single pipe is damaged during dredging operation, that pipe can be dug up and replaced by a new pipe. If a different brand of pipe was used to repair the damage the entire pipe run (up to as many as ten connected pipes) would have to be dug up and replaced with the new brand of pipe because the new pipe would not be able to be connected to the undamaged pipes, resulting in considerable extra expense to the Government. ADS pipe has been used in our application for the past ten years and has meet and exceeded our expectation for ease or use, functionality, and durability. This request is for Advanced Drainage Systems (ADS) HDPE corrugated gravity drainage pipe, specifically N-12 ST IB Soil-tight pipe with 36' inside diameter. In total 54, 20Ft. sections (1080 ft) are needed. ADS N-12 ST IB Mega Green which is comprised of 40% recycled high density polyethylene is also acceptable in the event there is no pricing discrepancy with regard to the standard HDPE blended pipe. Product should include appropriate quantities of joint/gasket lubricant and be deliverable to USACE open storage yard located at the corner of Business 98 and 2nd Street in Springfield Florida.
