Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Augusta GA (VISN 7), contemplates negotiation of a sole source procurement with the Institute for Family Centered Care (IFCC), 7900 Wisconsin Avenue, Suite 405, Bethesda MD 20814, for onsite training, Phase II, to develop a new employee orientation session on patient and family center care which includes course design; development of instructional materials; sensitivity training kits; train-the-trainer; refresher session of PFCC for existing employees and to review content previously delivered and identify other educational themes. Develop a facility level course for nurses instructed by nurses on incorporating Patient/Family Center Care principles in nursing practices. Develop a refresher session of PFCC for existing employees; requirements review content previously delivered and identify other educational themes that need to be included in refresher session. Course designers will pilot training at medical centers with the train-the-trainer graduates. Develop a facility level course for physicians, instructed by physicians and its impact on models of care. The course will be taught as a train-the-trainer session for medical center physicians who will teach the course to physicians at each medical center. Develop a facility level course of residents on physician commitment to patient family center care and its impact on clinical practice. The NAICS code for this procurement is 611430 with a size standard of $7.0 million. The period of performance for this procurement will be July 1, 2010 “ June 30, 2011. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. However, the government will consider all proposals received within 3 days after publication of this synopsis. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability by submitting literature, detailing how their products/services meet VA requirements to the Contract Specialist by fax 478-274-5588. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the government not to compete with this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
