- Description
- RECOVERY INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT (ISRDS) CONTRACTNUMBER NNA08CG83C.
THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLEONLY TO STINGER GHAFFARIAN TECHNOLOGIES INCORPORATED (SGT, INC.) UNDER CONTRACT NUMBERNNA08CG83C FOR INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT (ISRDS) AT NASA AMESRESEARCH CENTER (ARC) LOCATED AT MOFFETT FIELD, CA. THIS IS AUTHORIZED UNDER THEAMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009 (ARRA). ARC modified contract numberNNA08CG83C to fully fund Task Order 76 with ARRA funds. ARC issued Task Order 76, titledField Test System for Operational Evaluation of Trajectory-Based Automation for En Routeand Transition Airspace. This work supports NASA Recovery Act work sponsored by theAeronautics Research Mission Directorate and the Airspace Systems Program. Researchfunded by this work will focus on addressing the capacity challenges facing the USnational airspace. It is forecast that over the next 15 years, air traffic in the UnitedStates will double, far exceeding the countrys current capability to safely flyaircraft. To handle this growth, NASA is contributing toward the development of the NextGeneration Air Transportation Management System (NextGen). In support of NextGen goals,NASA has developed concepts which improve the efficiency of the National Airspace System(NAS) while maintaining safety. These concepts require field testing in order todetermine whether projected improvements in the NAS can be realized without compromisingsafety. In support of this research, the contractor shall develop an operational fieldtest system suitable for operational evaluation of NASAs trajectory-based automation andoperating concept in en route and transition airspace. They shall conduct a simulationand perform an independent analysis of the field test system. Task Order 76 is fullyfunded by the Recovery Act.
The Intelligent Systems Research and Development Support (ISRDS) contract numberNNA08CG83C was made on a competitive basis.
This announcement is for informational purposes only.
