- "THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY." THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO R&S MEDICAL COMMUNICATIONS, INC. AS A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT. TITLE: NURSE CALL SYSTEM AT NATIONAL NAVAL MEDICAL CENTER, BETHESDA, MARYLAND This proposed contract action based on other than full and open competition will be a firm-fixed price, sole source award to R&S Medical Communications, Inc. for maintenance and repair services of the nurse call system at the National Naval Medical Center. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c) (1), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. Full and open competition need not be provided when unique supplies or services are available from only one source or only one supplier with unique capabilities. The work will include all labor, supervision, management, materials, equipment, and transportation necessary to provide nurse call system maintenance for the hospital buildings. The manufacturer of the system at NNMC is West-com Nurse Call System, Inc. R&S Medical Communications, Inc is the only manufacturer certified contractor to service the systems in DC, MD, VA region. The Nurse Call system is a highly complex system that provides critical life-supporting communications between patients and health care professionals at the National Naval Medical Center. Maintaining that system at the highest efficiency is essential to the task of providing the best of care to our patient community. The estimated release of the RFP is the 5th of June 2010. The time frame for receipt of proposals will be provided in the solicitation notice.
