Description
DESCRIPTION: The Product Manager Individual Weapons, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ, is conducting a market survey to gather information about commercial small arms soft cases and 12 gauge shotgun magazine pouches. The magazine pouch shall hold a total of four magazines of either of two sizes: 3-rounds or 5-rounds. The largest (5-round) magazine can weigh approximately 17 oz including the rounds. The 5-round magazine dimensions are 1 in wide, 3 3/16 in deep by 6 3/8 in tall. The smaller (3-round) magazine dimensions are 1 in wide, 3 3/16 in deep and 4 5/8 in tall. The magazine pouch shall accommodate a total of four magazines of either size simultaneously. The four magazines should be arranged in the pouch so that the longest horizontal dimension (depth) of two magazines is next to the wearer and the base of the magazine toward the ground. The magazine pouch shall be designed so that the magazines can be easily pulled from/placed into the pouch using one hand and be made of durable, protective material and components suitable for field conditions. The magazine pouch shall allow for water drainage from inside each pouch. The magazine pouch shall include protective covers to limit environmental exposure (dust, dirt, and debris) of the magazines. The covers shall be held closed using clips. The clips shall be able to be tightened and loosened around the top of the magazines and be able to be opened/closed using one hand quickly and as quietly as possible. The magazine pouch shall be able to be secured to the Soldiers MOLLIE vest and use a minimum amount of space on the MOLLIE vest. The color pattern on the magazine pouch shall be the current ACU (uniform) camouflage pattern in accordance with MIL-DTL-44436A, 19 April 2005. The soft case shall hold one 12 gauge shotgun that is no smaller than 29in length and 10in tall with the 5-round magazine attached, weighing approximately 4 lb 3 oz/1.90 kg (not including the magazines and accessories). The soft case shall have a carrying handle and a removable shoulder strap for carrying the soft case. The soft case shall be made of durable, protective material and components suitable for field conditions. The shotgun should be securable inside the soft case to prevent excessive movement. The soft case shall also be able to hold five magazines (dimensions above) in any combination of 5-round and 3-round magazines, cleaning kit, shoulder strap and the magazine pouch. The soft case shall be cushioned to prevent damage to the shotgun and its accessories if it is dropped. The pattern on the soft case shall be the current camouflage pattern in accordance with MIL-DTL-44436A, 19 April 2005.
