- Subject: Sole source Purchase Request Number: NB861020-A-04675 Notice Type: Special Notice Synopsis: The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Acquisition Management Division, on behalf of the Materials and Construction Research Division intends to negotiate with Livermore Software Technology from Livermore, California on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR Subpart 13.106-1 (b), Soliciting from a single source, to renew annual license updates services. The intention of this procurement is to acquire software updates services to LS-DYNA licenses from Livermore Software Technology. LS-DYNA software is a program required for continuing a project entitled “Prevention of Disproportionate Structural Collapse” and another project entitled “Verification and Validation of High-Consequence Finite-Element-Method- Based Simulations.” These projects use software that has been developed using LS-DYNA input language and cannot be switched to another language because of compatibility issues between the programming codes. Based on the above information, Livermore Software Technology provides all the services required by NIST which are described below: Required Services •36 CPU Annual LS-DYNA license Includes: LS-PrePost, LS-OPT, LSTC Dummy & Barrier Models •20th-29th CPU 8 month license Includes: LS-PrePost, LS-OPT, LSTC Dummy & Barrier Models NIST anticipates negotiating and awarding a firm-fixed-price type purchase order. Interested parties that believe they could satisfy the requirements listed above for NIST may clearly and unambiguously identify their capability to do so in writing on or before the response date for this notice. This notice of intent is not a solicitation. Information submitted in response to this notice will be used solely to determine whether competitive procedures could be used for this acquisition.
