- RECOVERY--PROJECT #30278 The proposed procurement is set aside for 8(a) competitive. NAICS CODE: 238220, Standard is $14,000,000.00. This procurement is being advertised as a Request for Proposal (RFP). Estimated magnitude of construction is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00 with a completion period TBD. The RFP will be posted on or about June 8, 2010. Description of Work: Replace two chillers and two cooling towers located in the "Old Mole Hole" along Sheridan Avenue, Fort Myer, Virginia that serve Buildings 246, 247, 248, 249, 250, 251 and 416. Equipment is approximately 19-years old and will need to be replaced with equipment of equal capacity. The existing chillers are Carrier model 10xb44003501 and existing cooling towers are Baltimore Aircoil model 3341. The contract will be awarded using a Lowest Price Technically Acceptable approach. An award will be made to the offeror whose proposal is determined to be the best value to the Government considering both price and technical factors. It is imperative that all small disadvantaged businesses contact their cognizant Small Business Administration Office to obtain Small Disadvantaged Business Certification. Without SBA, SDB certification, a prime contractor nor a federal agency can receive SDB credit when utilizing non-certified SDB contractors/ subcontractors. SITE VISIT: TBD The solicitation will be provided in an electronic format, free of charge, to all authenticated account holders of Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) System. To familiarize vendors with the system, please download the Vendors Guide by logging into https://www.fbo.gov. Please note that all Corps of Engineers acquisitions are considered Sensitive, but Unclassified documents, and require users to have a valid MPIN entered into the FBO system to access the RFP package. The media through which the Government chooses to issue this solicitation will be the internet only. This solicitation will not be issued in paper format.
