- Description
- Perins Peak Phase II Mechanical Fuels Project. Proposed action is to mow/mulch vegetation on 180 acres. Recommended equipment to use would be a rubber tired or tracked machine mounted, horizontal or vertical shaft shredder/mulcher capable of working on slopes up to 35 percent and mulching logs or stems up to 12 inches in diameter. Vegetation to be treated would consist primarily of Gambel oak and other associated shrub species, pinon pine/juniper, and ponderosa pine. Vegetation will be mowed/mulched in a natural mosaic pattern treating entire clumps of vegetation and leaving larger diameter healthy clumps of vegetation ranging in size from 1/4 to 3 acres. This project is set aside for those contractors with a current BLM Fuel reduction contract for this type of work. The solicitation for this project will only be made available through the Federal Business Opportunities website - www.fbo.gov.
