Description
Statemet of Work Solicitation/Contract/Order for Commercial Items STATEMENT OF WORK FOR THE BASIC AutoCAD COURSE BACKGROUND Natural Resources Conservation Service, Maryland, has a need to provide Basic AutoCAD training to technical staff working in the field. The minimum training required is 30 hours of class instruction to be provided over a five day period of time as structured below. Participants will also be given assignments to be completed outside of the class room. LOCATION The contractor shall provide instruction at 2 locations. The FIRST location will be the NRCS computer lab located 339 Busch's Frontage Road, Conference Room, Second floor, Annapolis, Maryland 21409. This facility has a 16 seat computer lab with AutoCAD capabilities at each station. This location and its facilities will be made available to the contractor at no expense to the contractor. The contractor shall provide the SECOND training location/computer lab and be responsible for all associated costs associated with the use of the facility. The training locations shall have a computer lab with AutoCAD capabilities at each station and a minimum of 16 computer stations. The location of the facility will be in the Hagerstown, Maryland area. The version of AutoCAD at this facility shall be 2008 or newer. Phone: 443-482- 2921, email: steve.latimer@md.usda.gov. COURSE OVERVIEW The contractor shall provide a hands-on laboratory based training in computer-aided drafting/design, using AutoCAD software. Subjects to be covered include entities, assists, settings, construction, modification, editing, plotting, dimensioning, text and blocks. Evaluation is accomplished by assignments, quizzes, exams, and class participation. Hours of instruction shall be from 9:00 A.M. through 3:00 P.M with a one hour break from 12:00 till 1:00 for a total of 5 days at each training location. There will be one class a week at each location for a total of 5 weeks. Classes will be held during regular working days Monday through Friday. The classes will be held during the months of June, July and August. While it is preferred that the classes run during 5 consecutive weeks, there is some flexibility here as long as all classes during the 3 month period shown above. Create new CAD drawings using fundament drawing and modifying commands. The process of converting engineering sketch into a finished computer-aided engineering drawing and edit and modify existing CAD drawings. Standard Drafting Practices (including sectioning and dimensioning) as they apply to CAD and Orthographic Projection. AutoCAD’s 2D commands and applicable system variables, including the common prompt sequences and options, dimensioning, use of other measurement units and various scales, paper space and utilize the CAD layering system to organize data and control display. Plot CAD drawings. Complete drawing assignments outside of the class room instruction time. COURSE SYLLABUS DAY 1 Welcome and Introductions Overview of course agenda and goals Sectioned Drawings Dimensions Isometric Design vs. Architectural Design Basic AutoCAD commands, line and erase commands, entity selection, plot and save commands Other Drawing entities, editing and drawing aids such as circle, arc, polygon, ellipse, ray, xline, break, trim, extend, fillet and chamfer and ortho, snap and grid features DAY 2 Drawing Entities, editing and drawing aids continued including coordinate display and entry, status line and units, text commands, rotate, scale, stretch, align, mirror, mirrtext block, wblock, insert, explode, divide, measure, offset, array, spline, point commands. Drawing dimensioning and Hatch Windows and file management Display controls, moving, copying and plotting DAY 3 Drawing #1 (Outside classroom assignment) Advanced text control and editing Auxiliary Views DAY 4  Drawing #2 due (Outside classroom assignment)  Unit and scales in model space DAY 5 Inquiry commands AutoCAD Design Center AutoCAD tool Pallet Match property In class drawing assignment (Final) Contractor is required to submit at least three references that can verify past training and written reports of training. References shall contain name of project, place, and have extensive knowledge of AutoCAD, and be willing to submit written report of overall satisfaction of instruction of AutoCAD training.
