- Description
- The Portland District Corps of Engineers, Portland District intends to award a contract for Portland Harbor Clamshell Dredging. This dredging project includes maintenance dredging at the Willamette River, Post Office Bar from RM 2+06 to 2+24, Multnomah County, Portland, Oregon. Approximately 75,000 cubic yards will be dredged. A closed-lip (environmental) bucket will be required. Water Quality Monitoring will be required. Disposal of maintenance material will be at the West Hayden Island upland site located on the Oregon side of the Columbia River approximately 6 mi from the dredging area. No return water will be allowed from the upland site. Anticipated dredging start date is 1 September 2010 with an anticipated completion date of 31 October 2010. A Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) shall be provided for all contracts with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District. For this project, the person that will act as the SSHO is required to have a minimum of 5 years safety work with similar projects and a 30 Hour OSHA construction safety class, or equivalent, taken within the last 3 years. The SSHO may have no other duties for this work except function as the on-site CQC Manager. This solicitation will be available for download on or about 23 June 2010 with bid opening approximately 30 days after issue. This procurement is set aside for small business. The magnitude of construction for this solicitation is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The small business size standard is $20,000,000.00 for dredging. NAICS Code 237990.
