- Description
- J & A Reasoning: The current UHF Smartnet Base Trunking System is manufactured by Motorola Inc. The current LMR infrastructure (pre-1995 vintage) uses 10 repeaters to provide intra-base communications. These repeaters are nearing the end of their life-cycle, and parts are become increasingly harder to obtain. The Motorola trunking equipment is proprietary and does not interface with other companies, i.e. Seimens, General Electric, Harris, EF Johnson.
