Project Description: (Approx. quantities) This project consists of the complete interior demolition and renovation of a 12,800 square foot medical ward on the 3rd level of Building 71/71N and limited associated work on adjacent floors. Renovation will consist of constructing private and semi-private rooms with individual toilet and showers. Space will be modified for better patient privacy and to provide for better staff functionality to address patients with acute care and intermediate care needs. Space for outpatient chemotherapy and sleep lab will be included in the renovated space. A 200-ton chiller will be installed in building 71 to add capacity and redundancy to the chilled water loop that presently serves three buildings (71, 71N, and 9). All related interior mechanical, electrical, plumbing, utility, fire protection and detection, special systems, and communications work is included in this project. Work on Floors 2 and 4 of this facility will renovate systems and plumbing; and mechanical and electrical utilities associated with 3rd floor renovation. Second floor work is phased with specific durations required for each phase. Vibration and noise control requirements are specified during construction. Compliance with Sheridan VA's infection prevention measures is a requirement. As a bid option, single-pane, double-hung windows will be replaced with energy-efficient double-pane windows. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $2.5 million and $5.0 million. _______________________________________________________________________________ The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 360 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed.
