- The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Joint Munitions & Lethality (JM&L)Contracting Center, Combat Ammunition Center, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, intends to solicit, negotiate, and award a sole source effort to CONCO INC., 4000 Oaklawn DR, Louisville, KY 40219. This acquisition is being conducted using simplified acquisition procedures; however, capable offerors may submit a capability statement with quotation, which shall be considered by the Government. The NAICS Code for this acquisition is 332999 - All Other Miscellaneous Fabricated Metal Product Manufacturing. The Government has a need to purchase 240 units of the PA179 container covers for the 155mm Excalibur projectile. The PA179 Container is used for shipping the 155mm Excalibur artillery projectile to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. This container is the only approved pack, with a green coating that is corrosion resistant and durable for use by the military. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement will be based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This market survey is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the US Government. The Government will not reimburse any respondent for any effort or information submitted in response to this sources sought. All information submitted will be held in a confidential status and will not be returned. The contractor shall provide all information requested in this notification by 7 June 2010 by electronic mail at no cost to the Government, to michael.anthony7@us.army.mil. TELEPHONE INQUIRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. The Government will accept written questions by email. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published.
