- General Notice: The purpose of this notice is a Sources Sought Notice and is for information purposes only. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS, QUOTATIONS OR BIDS. The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle District, request capability statements from businesses concerning the potential project described below. Responses to this sources sought announcement will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. NO SOLICITATION IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. General Information: Responses are to be sent via email to bonilie.l.lackey@usace.army.mil or hard copy to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, PO Box 3755, CECT-NWS-C, Seattle, WA 98124-3755 no later than 3:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time 4 June 2010. The USACE is conducting market research for design/build construction, which consists of a 50-agent northern border patrol station for Department of Homeland Security, Customs & Border Protection (CBP). PROJECT LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION: The project is located in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, on an approximately 9-acre property owned by CBP. Description: Design/build (D/B) contractor will design, construct, furnish, and commission the Station Building (14,000 square feet), Garage (21,000 square feet), Canine/Equestrian Facility (25,000 square feet), and associated sitework and utilities. The Station includes office space, support and storage areas, detainee processing and holding areas, training facilities, locker rooms, restrooms, and secure storage for CBP personnel gear, weapons, and seized goods and narcotics storage. The Garage provides enclosed parking for 30 government vehicles, maintenance, storage, vehicle wash area, first aid supplies, and small quantity hazardous waste (HazMat) storage. The Canine/Equestrian facility includes office space, storage, washroom and food preparation areas, dog kennels, horse stalls, tack storage, first aid/wash area, exercise arena, feed and hay storage, and equipment storage. Sitework includes roadways, parking lots, security fencing, lighting, landscaping, emergency generator, and utility services. This market research is being conducted under North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code 236210, Industrial Building Construction. Please ensure this NAICS code is incorporated in your current CCR profile at www.ccr.gov. EXPERIENCE AND CAPABILITY REQUIRED Experience: The contractor should have experience in constructing similar projects (i.e., design/build construction work that is similar in nature, magnitude, and complexity to the current requirement. Magnitude of construction is estimated to be between: $10,000,000 to $25,000,000 The requirement for the submission of both performance and payment bonds, in an amount equivalent to 100% of the award price shall be applicable. Therefore, the successful firm shall have the capability to acquire such bonding. Interested firms should submit to the point of contact, with the following information regarding their company. 1.
