- Description
- The Department of Veteran Affairs has a project at the Wilkes Barre VA Medical Center in Wilkes Barre PA to create new office space in the shell space of the Clinic Addition west tower on the 6th floor-west, Building 1 and renovate existing offices. This project will be completed in phases. Existing offices will receive new finishes, and the HVAC system will be replaced. New Mens and Ladies rooms will be constructed, as private toilet rooms are removed from offices. Storage closets will be provided in lieu of the toilet rooms. The Medical Gas headwalls currently located on 6-West will also be removed. The contractor must adhere to Infection Control procedures, and all work must be accomplished between 7 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday. All work must be in accordance with the plans and specifications and all federal, state, and local codes and regulations. The scope of work requires the contractor to provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, supervision, equipment, permits, and testing as required by the drawings and specifications. Work includes demolition, asbestos abatement, carpentry, millwork, countertops, waterproofing, glazing, HVAC, plumbing, ceilings, wall covering, floor and wall tile, fixtures, painting, piping, new door installation, sprinkler systems modifications, plumbing, electrical, wiring devices, grounding lighting and other work items as required. All work shall be performed in accordance with the drawings, plans and specifications. This solicitation will be issued pursuant to the authority of FAR 19.14, Public Law 109-461 and the Veterans Benefits Healthcare and Information Technology Act of 2006 and is a100% set aside for the Service- Disabled Veteran-Owned Small business (SDVOSB). Contractors eligible for award shall be 51% or more owned and managed by Service Disabled Veterans. Service Disabled Veterans shall control the daily operations of the firm. The firm must be small under relevant North American Industrial Classification Standards (NAICS) code and the firm must be registered and current in the following websites: http://www.vetbiz.gov, http://www.ccr.gov, and https://orca.bpn.gov. Bidders must ensure registration in these websites are not expired and are correct, current and valid. Magnitude of this project is between $1M and $2M. Bid, Performance and Payment bonds will be required. The NAICS for this project is 238990 and the size standard is $14.0 million. Bid Bonds, Payment bonds, and performance bonds will be required. A pre-proposal conference and site visit will be held, date/time/location to be provided in the solicitation. The solicitation documents will be posted on FedBizOpps (http://www.fbo.gov) on or about June 17, 2010. Bidders are responsible to review and monitor the website for updates and amendments. This procurement is subject to availability of funds.
